I'm developing Generantis. Here's what I Envision.
Hi, I'm ChromeWing, an indie dev who is passionate about gaming as well as working with friends to create fun experiences for other gamers.
Generantis was a game idea that started as a simple goal: create a game that creates itself as people play it. The core concept at the beginning of development was to take all the fundamentals of an action game and turn them into items that the user collects. In order to create an interesting experience, the items spawn randomly and procedurally with different stats and properties each time.
The items in this game are somewhat inspired by Path of Exile, where content such as maps and strongboxes are random items that spawn with stats and properties.
As development started casually in spring 2013, the game was originally named "Project Dynamite" because a name wasn't decided yet. The word "Dynamite" had a hidden meaning, matching closely with the word "Dynamic" to emphasize the dynamic gameplay decided by the items found in game. Soon after, the game was called "Generator" but soon changed to "Generantis" because of potential problems with internet searching since a generator is already a real object that exists. Since the start of development, all the item categories were added to the game, with support for creating new planets, simple combat, and other features. Today, the game supports much more with the addition of lua scripting for new items that can be added and modified, as well as improvements to current features.
As development continued, it was discovered how fun some of the potential character builds could be, so development is now being directed towards supplying the game with an interesting array of items that provide abilities for fun combat as well as experiences such as mountainous castles and massive raids. Expect many more items in the future.
The game will continue to see updates, however a final release date is not known yet. Stay tuned!
